TPS73230DBVRG4 Description


The voltage-follower design of the TPS73230DBVRG4 family of low-dropout (LDO) voltage regulators uses an NMOS pass element. This topology allows for operation without a capacitor and is stable when utilizing output capacitors with low equivalent series resistance (ESR). Additionally, the device offers ground pin current that is almost constant for all amounts of output current and strong reverse blockage (low reverse current).

By utilizing cutting-edge BiCMOS technology, the TPS73230DBVRG4 achieves great precision with extremely low dropout voltages and low ground pin current. When disabled, current consumption is less than 1 A, making it perfect for portable applications. VCO powering is ideal due to the extremely low output noise (30 μVRMS with 0.1-μF CNR). Thermal shutdown and a foldback current limit protect these devices.
